Hey y'all. It's 7/11.
First, Happy World Population Day!
World Population Day is an annual event, observed on July 11, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues. (Thanks, Wikipedia!)
Two days ago, the world population was estimated to have been 7,025,071,966. That's a lot of people! And to think, out of all of those billions of people, I was able to find my Paul. Awww..
I thought this was kinda funny..and true..
Today was Career Day at Southwest Airlines for the interns. We learned about interviewing and various jobs around Headquarters. Unfortunately, my jobs opportunities at Southwest are looking very slim. Which makes me very sad :( I LUV this company. Luv it. I love the culture, the people, the atmosphere, what I'm doing, and again, the people. I'm going to be so sad to leave it. If there is any way I can have a marketing job there in September, I would take it in a heartbeat.
Here was my outfit for Career Day. I am not a fan of this type of picture usually but got a lot of comments on the outfit so I thought I would share.
And yes, I am standing on a chair in the bathroom. That's what you have to do when you're home alone without a full-length mirror!
I had a phone interview today and have an in-person tomorrow. I'm not sure it's exactly what I want to do, but I will find out more when I get there. I still can't start another job for about a month and a half so I'm not quite sure what will happen but I'm just going with it. Wish me luck and pray I find some fabulous job that I absolutely love..
After work today Paul and I went to Dave & Busters with some of his fellow interns. But it was a little farther away than he thought and he was only there for like 30 minutes before he left for an American Airlines Center tour. Funny funny. The food was yummy though so I was happy.
AND..
This made it so I was out and got to celebrate another holiday. Happy 7-Eleven Day!
Which to me means Happy Slurpee Day!
This is the day, July 7 or 7/11, where 7-Eleven's everywhere have free 7.11 oz slurpees from 11am to 7pm to celebrate their birthday (85th this year I believe..)
Slurpees make me think of my daddy. We used to go on Saturdays and get slurpees while getting his car washed or after soccer games. Such good times! And so delicious. Definitely one of my favorite traditions growing up. When we moved to Utah it mostly stopped, but it was great while it lasted.
What a perfect, refreshing summer treat. It's a good thing I don't drive by 7-Eleven's very often (or at least pay attention to what's on the side of the road while I'm driving) or I might stop more often to get them!
Have a wonderful 7th of July, everyone.
Luv, Lindsay

i'll have a virgin Cuba Libre.
The Big Bang Theory is where I got the title for this post. Apparently a Cuba Libre is coke and rum, so a virgin Cuba Libre is rum and coke..without the rum. Because Sheldon doesn't drink alcohol. I think it's pretty funny, since it's applicable to us.
Happy Piña Colada Day!
This made for such a refreshing, delicious summer dinner. A nice, big salad with a pineapple flavored drink. Funny story behind it though. We drove down the street to Albertson's to get some veggies and the stuff for our lovely drinks. The bagger forgot to give us our tomato. So Paul drove back to the store, grabbed it (it was still sitting on the check out stand) and walked out. There was no one at that register and I guess a worker lady came running out after him but he was already in his car driving away. I wonder if they caught him on camera and are going to show up at our house.. Wouldn't that be fun? :)
For those of you who know us very well at all, you are aware that we don't drink alcohol. Obviously Piña Coladas typically have rum in them, but we found a virgin recipe and made it. It's basically ice, pineapple juice, and coconut milk. We tried to get all fancy and put sugar around the top of the cups. That was actually probably my favorite part. They turned out pretty tasty but it's definitely not my drink of choice.
Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day at work and determine how I continue my job hunt..stay tuned!

i'm lindsay. and i'm an intern.
Today is a very applicable day to me and most of the people I associate with.
I am loving being an intern. I am working on about 8 projects right now and I love the busy times! From traveling to radio promotions to sports sweepstakes, it's so much fun. Speaking of, I had another blog posted today!
Get Amped at Red Rocks!
It talks about our adventure to Red Rocks and how you should hop on a plane and go to Denver! So fun. It also talks about our contest to win 2 tickets to 10 concerts next year. If you live in or around Denver, you should definitely enter at HERE. I submitted the web page too :) Very proud of it and so grateful for an internship that lets me see my work appear before my very eyes!
Paul is doing great as an intern. This week is kind of his "off" week where he isn't on a client but will be back out there next week doing more auditing.
But, as you know, the time of my internship is quickly running out. A month left! I have been contacted for 5 interviews now, which is great news! Unfortunately when they find out I'm not available for immediate hire they tell me to come back in August. Which is a little disappointing but if nothing else comes up, I do have places to go back to and try again. Keeping my eyes out for jobs!
I'm just grateful that my internship does not involve getting coffee, making copies, or ordering food. No matter what happens and where I end up, I love Southwest Airlines and have had the most amazing experience. I hope the rest of it is just as amazing, and I'm sure it will be!

Summer!
I'm so excited for this . . .
Happy Happy HAPPY SUMMER!!
I love summer.
And today is the first day of it.
It is the longest day of the year.
For those of you who live in the Arctic Circle Area, you get 24 hours of sunlight!
Congratulations.
My friend Holly came this weekend, as I have mentioned before.
It was fun and she got to see her boy so I'm pretty sure that equals she had a good time. Takes me back to those pre-married days . . . *sigh* No, I really don't miss them. I like the drama free marriage kind of life :)
Last night we got to get filmed while eating ice cream and go out to dinner with a bunch of people for Carrie's birthday. Happy Birthday, Carrie! It was a super fun night. But guess who's tired now . . .
It's going to get real busy here real fast. So excited. I've been working out really hard this week (mostly to make up for my horrible eating habits lately . . ) and it feels good but I am SO sore! I can hardly stand up sometimes, especially if I've been sitting on the floor. Ouch!
Happy Summer, everyone. Go swimming or something.
Luv, Lindsay
