Happy 4th of July!

I woke up this morning and got a call telling me that my flight to Houston for my business trip was cancelled. Lovely way to start the day, yeah?

Happy 4th of July!

After having some delicious breakfast at Mecca (holy huge cinnamon rolls!) I headed over to the airport to catch an earlier flight to Houston. After some taxi problems and wrong directions, I finally made it to the Southwest VIP area at Freedom over Texas.

So cool. And when I say cool, it was actually really hot and humid.

Of course we have to have our famous peanuts and pretzels..

There is just something about being at an event that you know the company you work for sponsored and it is branded with its logo like crazy. You just feel so cool! I went to town taking pictures, listening to music, and then turned around and went home! Easy trip. And as I was heading out it started to drizzle..hopefully it didn't pour down there! The clouds didn't look to promising.

The best part? Coming home to this amazing man.

We hung out tonight with our good friend, Ahmad, and had an awesome BBQ and discovered that his roof is the BEST place to watch fireworks. We got to see three different shows very clearly, and with no traffic! After some ice cream and card games, we called it a night.

Happy 4th, everyone! I hope you all had a fun, safe one.

My internship is more than half-way over :( what does that mean?

Operation frantic job search starts. Now.

I'm back.

No, I never really left. But back to some more interesting posts.

I apologize for the lack of content lately..It's just been one of those weeks!

Last night we got to have some 4th of July fun at a Southwest Deck Party and then head over to The Main Event in Plano and hang out with some other Ernst & Young interns. It seems like everything exciting we do has to do with work in some way or another. Which is fine, it's always fun!

Those of you from Utah are obviously very aware of the crazy fires going on.

This is a picture taken not too far from where my cute family lives. Praying for all of the families out there being affected by the fire and please, PLEASE no one use fireworks. It's really not worth seeing them when lives and homes are at stake. The picture is pretty cool..but it makes me really sad :(

Speaking of fireworks, on a happier note, tonight Paul and I and some friends went and saw fireworks in Addison! It was a mad house with thousands of people and the ride home was a nightmare but I had such a fun time! We got some pizza and walked around to see all of the little activities they had going on and then just sat, talked, and people watched for a few hours. Some people are so funny! Like the lady furiously picking her teeth into the side view mirrors of the snow cone truck parked on the grass. Lovely.

Oh! Today was National Chocolate Wafer Day!

When I think of chocolate wafers, I always think of Kit-Kats. So we had some to celebrate.
 SWA friends!

We also got to watch a SWEET air show going on right next to us. I can't believe the things these planes do. I could have sworn one of them was going to crash into the ground..
 Paul loved it.

Love this boy. He takes such good care of me :)
I  totally wore this same shirt on the 4th of July last year to Stadium of Fire.
 See?

And then, of course, we finished the night with some awesome fireworks and ridiculous traffic.

So much fun. But now I am so dead.

And it wasn't even the 4th of July!

Have a fun, safe one tomorrow everybody!

I love pockets.

I still love Southwest! While sometimes it's hard being the intern because you don't always have things to keep you busy, I love the projects I do get put on and am hoping that some of the things I've heard about getting involved with come to pass.

I know it sounds crazy but I've already started looking for a job for after my internship. I want SO BADLY to stay with Southwest but there is no guarantee..so I'm going to need to be prepared just in case. And I really don't want a sales job. So I'm starting now.

Paul starts at E&Y on Friday! He is very excited to not be sitting at home all day anymore. He's been great though cooking and cleaning and working out . . what a good man.

Monday was Memorial Day and we got to spend some time with my cousin again and his family. We had an awesome picnic and saw the Dallas Symphony and some sweet fireworks.

I love fireworks so much. One of the major things I miss about working at Disney.

I bought a skirt a little while ago mostly because it was cute and light and casual. I didn't find out until I wore it (and my husband is actually the one that discovered it) that it has pockets. Guys wouldn't understand this because everything they wear has pockets, but finding a dress or skirt that has pockets is basically a miracle and would make any girl's day - am I right? It definitely made mine.

So I have curly hair. Lots of it. But it's super curly on the bottom and then fairly straight on top so I can never wear it curly unless I actually curl the whole thing or it's all uneven and different and gross. But on Thursday night I washed my hair and woke up Friday with the intent to straighten it and...
It was actually all curly!

I was very surprised. (I know I look so tired in this picture . . it was about 6 am)

I'm always looking for different ways to do my hair because it's super difficult and usually takes a long time. I just bought this new gadget and will be trying it out tomorrow. Hoping it works!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend.
Most of my co-workers are enjoying their free flight benefits . . I'm hanging out with my hubby : )

Go Thunder!
